[Possible bug] Poisonned by an empty spider nest

Hello,

 

Wondering if it's a bug or actually normal : I was poisoned while hitting on a level 3 Spider nest with a basic spear. I checked thoroughly my surroundings, but, to my knowledge, no source of poison were around to explain this.

 

As for the circumstances :

- Day 16 (Fall season, nothing unusual), daytime

- I was using a regular spear

- Character was Wickerbottom

- I was resurrected once by a Touchstone prior to that.

- Nest was empty (all spiders were killed outside the nest's web)
- No yellow spider were spawned at any time, either while emptying the nest, while hitting on it, or after I was poisoned. 

- Nest was in a regular jungle biome. 

- There were no poison sources around (well inland, jungle biome only several screens around, no yellow snakes nor yellow spiders).

 

 

This means either lv3 nests can poison agressors, either it was a bug. Is there anyone here who encountered that behaviour ?

were there any marsh biome nearby with those things that unleash venomclouds every 4 seconds? and yo sure you were not poisoned before and didn't had noticed?

There was only Jungle and Beach on this island, so no, no fumes.

 

As for being poisoned before... I'm pretty sure I would have noticed the screen flashing green and my health decreasing - I took most of the day to empty the nest, as I was, ironically, very careful not to draw out the yellow spiders.

 

It really was Everything fine -> Green bubbles popping on my character, all while hitting on the nest. No red flashes or sound effect indicating I was hit or anything.
