As I realized the ship was going down after taking some heavy waves, I motored for my home island and landed on an empty corner of the island. There I just waited out the last few minutes and watch my boat take a direct hit (is it me or does the volcano seem to aim for stationary boats?). Some thoughts on the volcano season... It seems designed to be a test you need to prepare the entire rest of the year on. If so then bravo, job well done, moreso than summer in RoG in any case, surviving this took nearly everything I had. Is it my imagination or has the overheating mechanic been relaxed a bit here? It seemed to take a lot longer before the warning kicked it, even when I wasn't soaked. The eruptions do seem to go on a bit too long near the end, I think shortening the last eruption by as few as ten seconds would go a long way towards reducing the frustration with this. Second of all, yeah it really seems overheating has been toned down a little. Also, as long as you stand/walk under the shade of trees and palm huts, you won't overheat to the point of taking damage (unless there's a fire nearby), which is cool. I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that in vanilla/RoG. MikeJ Posted December 20, 2015 Author Share Posted December 20, 2015 I would, sadly, like to report my death at 146 days. Cause of death was a HUGE pack of sharks while dodging rocks from the heavens. Initially resurrected via an alter but ran into a weird bug where my character sort of floated across the screen and wouldn't come to a proper stop. This (and another eruption) negatively impacted my ability to recover so I threw the game. The wife's been waiting on me to end this so we could unlock the new character anyway.
