Show seasons in server list (and why): Important.

Recommended Posts

Here is my story.

I started on a server with a few people I'd met, and for a bout a day or so things went as normal: gathering resources, building things, dying to beefalo when your grasp exceeds your reach...

Then winter came. I'd only bee playing a day and a bit, so I had no resources for winter at all.

I froze to death.

I then had to return to the spawning portal (half a map away) to resurrect. So now I was cut off from my friends by virtue of freezing to death before I could ever reach them.

I must have frozen to death about five times before I managed to build a fire.

Then the Deerclops attacked.

It killed me, and destroyed my fire.

I respawned. Only now I have half health. I tried to rebuild my fire, and froze to death again.

I respawned, tried to rebuild my fire: froze to death again.

By now it was becoming increasingly difficult to build my fire: I was now essentially blocked off from my own resources by my own skeletons.

I froze to death again.

I respawned.

Deerclops killed me again.

So, the moral of this story is that servers should have some sort of season indicator in the list so that I don't end up joining ones that are in the middle of winter. :p

Hey Xexanoth, this is the wrong subforum. All DST related threads should be posted in this subforum instead. Regarding your issue with not being able to see what Season a server is in, that feature has already been implemented multiple versions ago. To see what season a specific server is in. In the Server List, click any Server and the Server Details will be seen on the right column.

In the image below, you can see the words Late Winter are the right column, this means that the in-game season is in Late Winter for this server and Winter is about to end in a few days.

If the Server Details show Late Autumn, then that means it'll only be a few more days before Winter starts. The order of the seasons are as follows: Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer, then Autumn again.

I hope that helps, cheers.
