PicklePet
It sucks not being able to safely be around your base for a whole season, because after you learn how to survive, the new goal of the game is to build! So I suggest: A craftable structure called the "Sacrificial Altar" to the Tiki Volcano God. It will ward meteors off of hitting the surrounding radius, like a flingo or lightning rod. It should have a feature sort of like a fuel meter - you have to keep on making sacrifices in order to keep it 'happy' (fueled) for it to work. As for what you can sacrifice to it - live animals or fresh crops, perhaps? And if you think that's too OP, maybe it could have a negative sanity aura, or cost sanity to make sacrifices - or it could also require a constantly burning fire (which will heat up your base even more in the already sweltering season). Also a very difficult to acquire/craft amulet that prevents meteors from landing directly on you (can still land near you) would be neat, too. Maybe tier 2 magic and requires something you have to harvest from the volcano on the map at a specific time, 1 per map or 1 per year, or requires you to kill some seasonal volcano boss.
