Progress reset to day 1

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm hosting a dedicated DST Server on Ubuntu for me and my friends. I recently changed it to a CaveBeta Server by creating a shard for the caves. Everyhting was fine and the saves were still there. Today I wanted to join my server and saw it is not in the server list. I looked in the Update News and saw there is an Update available, so I updated the server, started it again and saw it in the server list BUT now the it shows me the world is on day 1 and we were trough half the winter already. I joined the server and it prompts me to create a new character, if I do so all items are gone and I'm back on day one :mad-new: . It is definetly the same world and the savegame on the server is still there. I can also see in the log that the server is loading this save game. How could the update cause this? Is everything lost now?

Help would be appreciated :)

Hi @Gerrit507,

can you share your logs of both servers?

do you have this option in your settings.ini?

enable_autosaver = true

Hey,

I found out that my friends were on the server and died, sorry for confusing  :livid:  Anyway they left the server right after they died because the timer was ticking, BUT when I joined the sevrer the world was already recreated. I think "pause_when_empty" should prevent from that, even if all players died, shouldn't it?

Then I enabled snapshots in the hope this would help. We lost connection to the server(internet issue) when we both were in a fight with low hp, after five minutes we could rejoin the server and again everything gone! Seems like we died because of the connection issue... I tried to rollback with c_rollback() but it seems like the server created a new session and deleted the old one. This is very annoying. As far as I can remember the simulation paused even if all players were dead in earlier versions. Could I just simply prevent the server from recreating the world, prevent it from deleting the whole old session, or is the only solution changing to endless mode?
