Shank still crashing

Exactly the same thing happening to me, just bought today from the app store and Soon as it tries to launch the game after opening scene it crashes to desktop.

2011 imac

2.5 Ghz intel core i5

4Gig ram

I am not using any controllers other than mouse and keyboard

is any thing being done about this or have I just thrown away my money?

Heya Keith, When the game crashes, are you getting an error / call stack. If so, can you paste it here?

it wont let me, it says I can only paste 1000 characters and the report is over 4000, dude this is crap please refund me.

Hi Keith, you can use a service like paste pin (http://pastebin.com/) or you can include a text file to post a call stack. It's preferable not to post it in a message to prevent huge amounts of scrolling on the forums.

Since Apple doesn't allow us to handle refunds directly, I can't help with that directly, but I can help point you in the right direction:

You'll need to go here: https://expresslane.apple.com/ServiceOptionAction.action

Click "Purchases, Billing, and Redemption"

Select "Mac App not behaving as expected"

Click "Continue"

Click "Email" under "More options"

Fill out the form that appears, and submit.

We did recently pushed an update to the Mac app store that may have fixed your issue, but without callstack info it's impossible for me to assist. We've also released a version on Steam yesterday. We're able to update and trouble shoot the Steam version much faster, but alas Apple can take anywhere from 1-5+ weeks to approve any update we make. We'll likely be looking at the Steam version moving forward and submitting larger more refined fixes to Apple down the road. Sorry to hear your App store purchase isn't working out. We're happy to help look at your particular problem more if you'd like to provide some more information.

So i've bought Shank on 26 of october from appstore, and the same thing happens. Quit after intro scene.

Heya Nailed,Thanks for letting us know you're in the same boat. Can you by chance provide a call stack or crash error for us? It won't likely fit inside a single forum post, so it would be preferred if you used something like http://pastebin.com or another text dump hosting service and posted a URL to it. As mentioned above, we're having a really hard time finding out why this is happening for a small number of people. It doesn't seem to be specific to any particular kind of Mac. We've had a few users using identical systems to what we have in office, and we're unable to reproduce it as of yet. If you're one of the affected people, a crash dump would be super handy (if there is one). If there isn't, the Apple Store refund process will be able to assist in a situation where we're unable to fix it for you. Thanks for your patience with us, I really wish I had something more definitive to responde with.

Heya Nailed,This is indeed the dreaded and uninformative Thread 1 Crash. We are trying to reproduce this with another user through a debug build, if this is something you might be interested in helping with, send me a PM. If we can get our debug build to crash like this, then hopefully we can get some more useful information.
