I was thinking about poison.

What if it only lasts for a limited period of time, and when you survive it, you get more resistant to poison, because that's how it works usually...

It would last less and less time until you finally get immune to poison completely, but that wouldn't be a small task.

 

First time would be 20 days of being poisonned, then each time you manage to survive poison without dying, it reduces of 5 days each up to 0, then you're immune. Taking an antidote while poisonned(you can't be poisonned if you're immune) negates all your efforts(but cures you)!

 

It would require to survive a full 50 days of being constantly poisonned to be fully immune. Fair trade isn't it?

I like the idea, but It would make Gas mask or seashell suit rather useless on latter days. 

I think they should expand that thing with posion more, like making different types or stages of posion. So you will be able to get immunity to weak kind of posion, but not stronger ones.
