Fishing Rod Question

Considering you are stuck on a tropical island ...

 

The fishing rod seems terribly under powered.

 

seems odd you cant fish off your raft and the actual fishing spots are wayyyyy to rare..

 

Even if you caught crap most of the time off your raft it'd be a good feature.

 

You should at least be able to fish over the schools of fish once or twice.

 

Or have spots in the ocean where you can fish "like" a pond but just an area.

 

leaving the fishing rod at home in this environment seems wrong   D:

I thought you COULD fish in the shoals...? I seem to remember having a fishing rod and being given the "fish" option...

if this is true then that's fair enough.  I just never see those schools of fish ( only seen them once  and didn't have the rod on me )

 

 

i don't think you should be able to fish anywhere in the water .  i just think there should be more spots to fish.

 

And if its easy then make it so you catch seaweed most of the time or dead dogfish etc.

 

besides it'd be cool to have another way to obtain seaweed

I seen some huge amounts of fish schoals in between coral reefs, i tried to use "net" attached to my boat to gather those schoal but they only disappeared and the net didnt work. So i assume these can only be fished by a fishing rod.

 

Actually on swamps, there are fishing pools , small and big ones, and there is new type of Fishman/fishpigs that are not green but rather red and they have a small beard i think. They are like elders fishing for their younger green brothers.

Anyways those guys are awesome, first of all they will not attack you, they have this cool weapons that they use to pick the fish out of those pools and just through the fish on the ground, you can run around and pick the fish.

 

The only downside is the green fishmen, as they try to eat that fish and will aggro if you come to close, just evade them and pick the fish or kill them all and dig the swamp leaving only fishing pools behind, and make your main base here )
