So I'm trying to get a Caves+Overworld dedicated server running.
I'm on windows 7, and i'm using two .bat (batch) files to run both of the servers, and I have them redirecting to two folders under /Documents/Klei/, DST_Server and DST_Cave.

Server batch file:

Cave batch file:

My main problem I think is that the caves batch files always has an error, though after I realized you had to update the dedicated server to cavesbeta it changed it around.

 

I have the worldgenoverride.lua in the Cave server folder.

I've definitely updated the app with SteamCMD for Reign of Giants and for Caves, but I've been unclear how to/if I've updated it like it mentions here on the wiki:

I've tried connecting to just the overworld server also (Directly because although it showed up on the public server list, it didn't show up on the list on the game)
but when I direct connected it said: 
"Server is not responding. Try yelling louder? Reason: direct connection timed out."

Someone on another network got the same response from the server directconnecting and couldn't find it on the list ingame either. 
I've been trying to do this on and off for two weeks so I'm just so unsure on what I should do...

 

And yes, I believe I still need to forward the master port, (10997) but I figured it'd run correctly and I could figure out my issue with having only a few port spaces left to forward when it's actually working. 

I recognize my post is very long, so thank you very much if you read it, and if you have any advice that can tell me what I'm doing wrong...

So I'm trying to get a Caves+Overworld dedicated server running.

I'm on windows 7, and i'm using two .bat (batch) files to run both of the servers, and I have them redirecting to two folders under /Documents/Klei/, DST_Server and DST_Cave.

Server batch file:

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server\bin"

dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer.exe -conf_dir DST_Server -console

Cave batch file:

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server\bin"

dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer.exe -conf_dir DST_Cave -console

 

My main problem I think is that the caves batch files always has an error, though after I realized you had to update the dedicated server to cavesbeta it changed it around.

 

I have the worldgenoverride.lua in the Cave server folder.

I've definitely updated the app with SteamCMD for Reign of Giants and for Caves, but I've been unclear how to/if I've updated it like it mentions here on the wiki:

I've tried connecting to just the overworld server also (Directly because although it showed up on the public server list, it didn't show up on the list on the game)

but when I direct connected it said: 

"Server is not responding. Try yelling louder? Reason: direct connection timed out."

Someone on another network got the same response from the server directconnecting and couldn't find it on the list ingame either. 

I've been trying to do this on and off for two weeks so I'm just so unsure on what I should do...

 

And yes, I believe I still need to forward the master port, (10997) but I figured it'd run correctly and I could figure out my issue with having only a few port spaces left to forward when it's actually working. 

I recognize my post is very long, so thank you very much if you read it, and if you have any advice that can tell me what I'm doing wrong...

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, I don't see an edit button, but I thought it was worth noting that I'm hosting the servers from the same server I'm playing from.

Though I do plan to move it over/make another server on another computer so it won't run this one down since it doesn't have the greatest specs.

because you need to have this in your log.txt of your server cave when server cave generate your world:

Thank you so much!! I don't know what that did, but I did have that already,except for the presets, I guess I didn't realize that was a required thing, haha 

It's at least letting me connect, I'll try with others too soon.
