Is it worth playing Willow and DST alone?

Recently started a new world with Wickerbottom and I was planning to go through teleportato and change into Willow but then when I thought about it, there really isn't anything special about her.

• Never used her fire immunity,
• keeping sanity at max isnt a problem consider all the ways to do it(tent,taffy,jerky,tam,hibernation vest to name a few)
• the lighter just takes up space in inventory since a simple torch is better.

 

I read that they changed Willow for DST because of griefers? Not sure if giving durability would help in that regard since a torch can light things up anyways. Not sure if anyone who is decent in this game would even once use the new teddy bear either.

 

After some thinking it seems that Willow needs an overhaul. Maybe give her lighter new ability like creating better light at a cost of sanity? Do you think its worth playing as Willow? I can see that she was made for newbie players (sanity increase and free light) but don't you think that she should at least have something special that even better players could find useful?

 

Moving on, is it worth playing DST alone? I'm stranded here alone(very excited for the new DLC!!) because my friends are just brainless FPS nerds. This game is too hard for them. Should I try to play with some random people and how do you guys approach it to have fun in DST. Didn't try it yet.
