Dedicated server excessive lag

Recommended Posts

I host a dedicated server. 3.0 GHz Xeon 6-core processor with 10 GB RAM running Windows 2008 R2 server. This server has hosted many games, including resource intensive games like Ark: Survival Evolved (2 instances), with no lag whatsoever. I run a single instance of DST on this server alone (no other games running) and it uses very few resources at all, but gets a LOT of lag. Typically everyone is lagging most of the time. It has to be the game clients, or the game server software as no other high quality games lag at all on this server.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi @fishman73,

the first problem is server DST don't used multithreading, so sometimes you have one core is on 100% on your CPU and this why you have big lag

and server DST is not really good optimize, so you can just help devs with profil of your server when you have big lag
