I'm sorry if this has already been suggested - I've not had much time to skim through the forums yet.

Why not implement a compass? When changing orientation with Q & E it can get very confusing if you're not paying attention. A compass on screen would make it much simpler to get your bearings back. Also, I'm aware there's only a team of around 4 (I think) developers, yet implementing something like a compass wouldn't be too much of a task.

Thoughts?

I preferred the idea in that other thread where it was suggested that we not start with the Map, but rather with only a compass icon that functioned where the map icon currently resides. Then, once we have papyrus and charcoal we can craft a map and upgrade the icon to the map. Of course that wouldn't necessarily resolve the matter of not knowing which way is north, but it hardly matters so long as you know where you are (IMHO).
