Llamaturkey101 Posted May 18, 2015 Share Posted May 18, 2015 I am a huge fan of DS and DST alike, but one thing that bugs me is that you can not turn off (or change) the mob balancing for DST. The reason I don't like this is because when I play with friends we usually live nearby each other but don't work together killing mobs. This makes killing a spider queen by yourself nearly impossible. I completely understand how they want to make the game be more cooperative, but I like being a loner who only occasionally trades with friends:).Getting to the idea I think there are a couple ways to balance it:1. When making a world the host can edit the settings to decide how buffed or nerfed the creatures are, that way hosts can regulate difficulty.2. The creatures get buffs depending on how many players are nearby. This way working together is still hard, but fighting alone is possible. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Johnny5isAlive Posted May 19, 2015 Share Posted May 19, 2015 I don't have a problem with the buffed up monsters in DST, personally I would like them to make the Monsters in DS that strong. The giants however have too much health to the point that it feels like I'm whacking a big ugly piñata until it finally dies and drops its loot! The giants aren't hard to kill they're just time consuming. I really think the fighting style of some of the giants needs to be reworked. I've always liked Bearger and Deerclops the way they are, they do their job well. But Gmoose is just too easy to kill and I understand that her role isn't so much as a killer as it is to create Moslings to fight in her place. And then we have poor Dragonfly all that health and not even a real threat! Yes she's hard to kill but her fight isn't hard. You go in with 4+ people all decked to the nines with armour, weapons and healing supplies. It takes a long time and a lot of Honey Poultice but eventually she dies. And the first thing everyone does is places walls around the magma so that the next time you fight you don't even have to think about the Lavae. Then eventually you get a lot of pigs (or bunnymen / lobsters once caves are added) and you can start doing the fight with just 2 people. I guarantee that once we get Rock Lobster I will find a way to solo that fight. So please Klei, make the game even HARDER! I want to cry tears of blood! Don't stop until Wigfrid looks like a hardmode character!!! Oh and when you add Caves I expect the Depths Worms to have NO LESS than 2,000 HP! Maybe buff their damage to 100.
