Question about votekick status

So I recall some time ago on of the Klei folks said they were looking at the votekick function.  I hadn't heard much of anything since, and google doesn't pull up anything terribly informative.

 

Anyhow, last night a player was asking if I could enable vote-kicking for them on my Wilderness server that I let run long periods, 200+ days typically.  They know the regularly seen trolls, but I'm not often on and as the only admin that mostly means the trolls troll.  I told them I thought votekick was on for my server, and then confirmed that the setting is indeed set to true in my config file.

 

Is there another step to be done to allow my players to vote-kick trolls?  Or is this still in development and I just need to counsel them to patience?
