Issue Title: White Screen On Startup

Issue Description: Hello! Originally I accidentally posted this on the wrong forum, so I hope you don't hold that against me. So, uh- a few weeks ago I attempted to play Don't Starve on Steam, and I could not get it to properly start. It starts out on a black screen, then jumps to a white screen, and then stops responding. Now, the other day, I purchased the beta for Don't Starve Together. It worked fine on the first day. Then, on the second day, the crash from above started happening again, to both Don't Starve Together, and regular Don't Starve. So, I updated all of my Graphics Card Drivers, I verified the Game Caches on both, rebooted my PC, and finally, re-installed them both. That last step worked for the day. However, I just tried playing and it started to crash again. I do not want to have to re-install Don't Starve every time I play it, and so, would like to know if there is a possible way around it. I'd like to point out that this happens to me with or without mods installed. I'll attach my specs, though I don't think that they're the issue here.

Steps to Reproduce: I'm not quite positive if this is reproducible. But, in order to cause the game to do this, I simply start it up.

Sorry you're having trouble, benjom6d! Can you upload your log.txt after you experience the issue you describe? You can find it in your Documents/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether folder. Thanks!

To be completely honest with you, I'm not quite sure if this is even listing the problem. I probably should have mentioned this, but when it crashes, even though it is Don't Starve Together, it says that dont_starve steam.exe is not responding so I'm wondering if it's a problem with the base game.

Alright-so this may totally absurd, but I think I found a solution. My computer doesn't like that I'm impatient and like clicking on the screen while things are loading, and then it decides that the game isn't working. So, if I try to load it up without clicking, it loads up fine. I think that it's a strange- uh- issue, but alright. So, thanks anyways for trying to help!
