because u screwed up the template. if u dont provide more info we cant help u more.

also, i dont know which template u use, but i suggest http://forums.kleientertainment.com/files/file/950-extended-sample-character/

if u use this and have the dont starve mod tools installed, u can just edit the pngs in the exported folder and the game automatically converts them to texture when u start the game.

also, u can open the .scml file in the exported folder with the spriter.exe from the dont starve mod tools to see the position of your sprites without starting the game. read and watch the tutorial on that page.
