werzal Posted March 21, 2015 Share Posted March 21, 2015 I create a LAN server for me and my freind on DST and we've tried everything, we show lan servers in the settings but the lan server doesnt show up for my freind and we're in the same house and on the same network, the list of servers just comes up as empty as if it doesnt exist, we've tried verifying the cache, disabling all mods, turning showing lan on and off, please help we cant play online because the lag is horrid but Lan doesnt work, the screen shot below shows what I see even though my freinds LAN server is up, please help ASAP. rezecib Posted March 21, 2015 Share Posted March 21, 2015 @werzal, Try making it an online server, but searching for the server with a LAN filter. That should hopefully get around the lag (which I'd guess is caused by it falling back on a proxy when it gets tangled up in hairpin NAT issues). Another thing to keep in mind is that the CPU speed (just the speed, number of cores doesn't really matter) is a big factor in how smoothly you can host, so whichever of the two of you has the faster CPU should host. I've had the same problem with not being able to find the lan server, but hosting from the other PC has worked for me. I imagine you've already tried that but if not it's worth a shot.
