melis1446
I downloaded DST on my older MacBook so my son and I could play it together. I read that people have had success running it even though they don't meet the requirement of 10.7 or better. I can't even get the game to open. When I click on it from either my desktop or from steam it says "dontstarve_steam cannot be opened because of a problem" then says a bunch of stuff about checking if it works with my version etc. Does anyone have a suggestion of how I can make it open? I've been able to run other similar games on this computer with no issues.
Omry
hey, first of all you are a great dad for playing with your kid, there is a solution to it which might take time and may seem a bit advanced, you can install windows 7 or something using vmware, it might take a while but it works great, and you get to keep both the mac os x and have windows, if you do try out my suggestion and need help just pm me and ill gladly help you
rezecib
@melis1446, As far as I know the problem with pre-10.7 is that 10.6.8 has an older version of one of the networking libraries (libcurl I think?). There was a bug report about it a while back, but I think your log (Documents/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether/log.txt) should have an error message about it, if that's the issue. I don't know if there's a way to get an updated version of the library, but it's something you could look into?
