Specific Language for Character (Help)

Hi, I'm trying to make a character mod. I'm currently working on the art, it's almost done, but I'm also getting all the technical issues out of the way bit by bit. There's one thing I don't know the solution too at the moment though.

 

This character is supposed to speak French (I'm making a few for my friends, trying to implement them) and the thing is that it's impossible to get the game to properly write things like "é" or "à" which are very common in French. I do realize it's because of the game's font but can anyone tell me how to correct this issue? Without having to make a complete new language pack for DST? I also need to make multiple characters like these so it must be relatively easy to do with the others.

Please help me out, thank you

 

PS: I've looked at the German Language Pack, I downloaded PO Editor and I don't have a clue what to do.
