Bug Submission:

Category: Client Crash

Issue Title: Crash upon launch

Issue Description: Upon launching the game, it crashes immediately at the black screen with 'loading' in the bottom left hand corner.

'Loading' screen is only visible for less than a second.

This is on an Acer Aspire S7 running Linux Mint 17 64 bit. The game launched fine previously before updating the steam client itself to the latest version.

I have no debug logs to provide. (none are available?)

Steps to Reproduce: Just launching the game.

@Damnleperchons, Log is in Documents/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether

LInux.

Did some more snooping. It's actually in the home directory. under .klei.

~/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether/log.txt

Anyway, I've attached the log. This is after nuking the entire .klie directory and reinstalling the game files through steam.

Here's the important information from the log itself:

DoLuaFile Error: [string "scripts/modindex.lua"]:761: could not load modsettings: ../mods/modsettings.luaLUA ERROR stack traceback:        =[C] in function 'assert'        scripts/modindex.lua(761,1) in function 'UpdateModSettings'        scripts/modindex.lua(413,1) in function 'Load'        scripts/main.lua(292,1) in main chunk[string "scripts/modindex.lua"]:761: could not load modsettings: ../mods/modsettings.luaLUA ERROR stack traceback:        =[C] in function 'assert'        scripts/modindex.lua(761,1) in function 'UpdateModSettings'        scripts/modindex.lua(413,1) in function 'Load'        scripts/main.lua(292,1) in main chunkError loading main.luaFailed mSimulation->Reset()Error during game initialization!

Alright you can close this report.

Here is the resolution:

Create a new modsettings.lua in ~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Don't Starve Together Beta/mods/

modsettings.lua was missing and the client refused to create a new one.

After creating a new file in that directory, the client starts right up.
