Hard Reset

I actually hard reset my game to start from scratch with this patch, as many people seemed worried abut how new players were going to survive.

Not going to lie, even knowing everything I do about the game this time around, it's not easy. But... I haven't died yet. Even if I do, I keep all my research and that allows me to get further the next life and so on. If I want to keep the game a little easier I use the default map setup and I don't make a new world so I know where everything is when (note, not IF) I do die.

I am trying out the basic farms and gathering what I can food-wise to see how easy it is to manage without all the researched equipment (and to live long enough to get said equipment).

Gobblers SUCK! The first one of these I encountered did not act the same as before (I like to be surprised so I didn't read all the release notes) but... I was able to herd / outrun him to the berry bushes since I had no real way to kill him. If the bushes aren't dug up and placed closely together, you can beat the turkeys. I am considering experimenting with planting the berries alongside the ocean to see if his food-gobbling AI or his new found fear of water AI is stronger.

Still no Krampus. Never seen it, and probably never will. I might when I start collecting feathers for darts... since I'll be killing a lot of birds. But we'll see.

Spiders... not an issue. Yet. I have found a place far enough away from starting nests to not be bothered , but knowing what they'll become spurs me to get ready fast and try to keep them thinned out in areas I plan to farm / hunt / and live. They can have the parts of the map I don't like. (~_^)
