I saw that lots of people made custom characters and I made it my goal to put myself into this game. I followed a tutorial in these forums and for the most part it was easy to understand and complete, but when I try to play the game with my mod it crashes. It will let me activate the mod and when I start a new game it will let me choose my character and everything. But when the game is done generating the world it just shuts down without any crash error message or anything. It doesn't even give me a chance to see my character in the game. BrotatoTips Posted January 7, 2015 Share Posted January 7, 2015 could not spawn player character. this usually has to do with a few different issues sometimes. you might want to look over your mod and see if you messed up any sort of capitals, punctuation, or any order of certain lines of code. also, you will need the line:forumthread = ""even if it is blank like this, it is not an option. so just check this stuff over. you might have an error where part of your file isnt named right, like paul. some might be like character.paul or be characters.PAUL. this makes the whole difference when you change the template files. hope this helped some. It was something wrong with the coding I tried to make where my character would resist getting frozen for longer. So now all I need to know is how to code it where freezing takes longer to happen to my character and how to add the mod to the steam workshop.
