**There may be a few spoilers.**

I know PvP's not the devs' main focus right now, but it's what I'm enjoying most while waiting for more content. It's also the least troll-able activity.

I don't know if this a problem with my skill, but I find I need 1hr+ to feel properly setup to PvP. I'm mainly playing on dedicated Wilderness servers. If I don't have an armor, healing salves, boomerang, food, and a winter hat - minimum - I feel like anyone with a Willow lighter is still going to do great against me.

1. The main problem with PvP right now: As has been noted before, fire is extremely OP. For a quick fix, I'd suggest just nerfing it. If ice and other ways to reduce fire damage will be added soon, I can wait. It's an equal opportunity weapon, but a silly one. All else being the same, whoever lights the other person on fire first wins.

2. Melee-only combat is almost entirely based on who is more prepared. Whoever has more food/more hunger or more health, is most likely to win. Since we all move at the same speed, you can just chase someone until one of you dies of hunger. Walking cane isn't exactly the solution, since anyone can use them. Maybe the cane needs duration too? Map awareness and the environment (chasing people into corners like koalefants, into swamp, into killer bees, etc) are viable strategies though, so maybe melee combat just needs more time and player innovation.

3. Range weapons are good. If I play for 2-3+ hours, I usually feel like I can kill anyone I see. I'm not sure range needs to be nerfed though, this could just be a general low skill-level at the moment. Darts can be dodged, boomerangs caught, armor helps, ranged weapons are at a higher cost than melee - that should be enough to balance things out. Usually it's easy because I'm the only one making darts, but if more people try, then the resource cost will be higher.

I've only tried PvP alone so far - I'm sure teaming changes things a lot. I think I'll start trying to tell people how to avoid dying to things - after I kill them with it.

1. Definitely agree. Fire is a bit overpowered even outside of PvP (e.g. lightning lighting you on fire for 50 damage regardless of armor). The only way to deal with it in PvP is to be Willow.

2. Maybe there should be an item (a bola?) that you can throw to trip someone up for a short duration. The range on it should be low, so people still have opportunities to keep their distance and run away, but it would at least give you a way to pin someone down once you get close. I guess the way this would work is that it'd set their speed very low, but once they move a certain distance from where they got hit, they break free. That way they have to choose between breaking free or fighting back.

2. I hope they're planning some craftable, speed-affecting thing with the Ewecus goo. That'd be cool. Something like your bola might work, though I think it should be dodgeable like darts and/or other limitations. Otherwise it could guarantee a kill if your target is unsuspecting. Walk up to them, pin down/slow down, start smacking.
