outseeker Posted December 29, 2014 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Bug Submission: Category: Client Crash Issue Title: Constant crash after a few minutes, host or client Issue Description: Even while just in the server browser idle for a couple of minutes I have crashed. Often when I receive a steam popup I crash. I've turned off all steam overlay etc. and I still crash randomly at any given time. Sometimes every 2 minutes, sometimes I get a while out of it.. Steps to Reproduce: Try to play the game. I crash when I host or I'm client with certainty, no mods, verified steam cache, tried folder permissions full control to everyone, ownership, running as admin or compatibility mode, nothing seems to have any effect. Attached is the only crash dump file in the game folder, though I have crashed many many times with Windows Error Reporting doing it's thing and a few times just dead closed. It looks like the crash file has failed to upload when you created the ticket- could you please upload it again, it will help us get to the root of the problem quickly. We can now access the original file, We will investigate the crash to determine what is going on. So many complaints have been broken by this... EDIT: Turns out the files were hiding in the ether, developers can now see them. No need to upload the minidump file again, as we can now access it. Because of my lack of attention to how the bug report form worked initially, I've created more than one bug thread for this I think. In the Steam\SteamApps\Common\Don't Starve Together Beta folder you will have VCRedist and DXRedist folders; close Steam and install dxsetup.exe from the DXRedist folder and vcredist_x86.exe from the VCRedist folders and restart ze PC.
