OnyxShadow
I just got DST for myself and another person. We played for a while, and there was some slight lag at first but nothing too obnoxious. However, as the days go by in game, more of the map is explored, and our base grows it has gotten unplayable for the other person. Tabbing shows me as a "bad host". However, that makes no sense. We have a 15mbps Internet connection that is very stable. Other multiplayer games work just fine. The other player spends almost all her time in lag animations and being pulled back half a screen constantly. Today it got to the point of being completely unplayable for her. Are improvements coming soon? Is there anything I can do on my end to decrease lag? Pyromailmann
Klei has said they're working on improvements to servers and decrease lag. They're mainly on a break right now to spend time with their families. But they're doing checks on their office to make sure it's not destroyed. GeorgeStorm
Could it be the PC you're using to host the game not being up to scratch? OnyxShadow
Its a gaming computer that's hosting. The other computer is a bit slower, but it runs normal Don't Starve flawlessly.
