I'm not sure if this is by accident or intended, but since rocks are non-renewable, is it something that is planned for the alpha? Steps to Reproduce: Make a thermal stone. Apparently you can even repair it with a sewing kit, because sewing kits totally work on rocks. But rocks are actually renewable, due to meteor showers. Also, breaking things. Lots of things. Thanks though. And sewing kits and thermal stones..... you could sew the cracks or something? Heh. Who knows the properties of a hound's tooth?
