DST key Contest

Our Mod team will be giving away 3 DST keys to promote our upcoming BETA launch. We will hold two separate contests, the winners will be determined by the end of the week. (depending on entries, we reserve the right to extend the contest)

Some of the rules are as follows.

 

1. Anyone can participate.

2. Must be in English

3. Videos must be uploaded to Youtube.

4. Videos will be voted upon by our team to determine the winner.

5. Players can enter both contests.

 

Contest 1 (1 beta key reward)

 

1. Must submit a montage showing of the features of our mod collaboration.

2. Video must have music. (can use in game music)

3. Video must be at least 1 to 5 minutes in length.

4. We will reserve the right to use the video on our Steam page, when we launch our Beta version.

 

 

Contest 2 ( 2 beta keys as reward)

 

A “Lets Play” series of Hero in the Dark.

 

Rules.

1. must be at least three 5 to 10 minute segments, or longer.

2. Must be in English

3. must be mature. (no vulgar language)

4. Must not use console.

5. New players or vets are welcome.

6. Must be uploaded to Youtube.

wow, nice mod and I will enter the contest #2. (I can't do #1 because I don't want to mess with complicated copyrights)

Video must have music.

Video must be at least 5 minutes in length.

 

So you want a cancer video, because 5 minutes of no commentary and just music is bad video making. It should be 2 at most. Making a 5 minute video of just music, and gameplay is both hard to edit and a channel killer. I personally would unsub from most channels that tried that.

You should clarify on whether Mature means adult humor, or no adult topics it can mean both. 

 

Everything else is OK, but honestly 3 ten minute sections is too long. You're asking for people to make bad videos, because with rules like this it's gonna be forced and low quality. Who cares if they use console if they show really cool features? Also if you only ask for a small amount of footage in contest 2, you can get them to show only the best parts of the mod without spoiling the build up. Having a good build up only improves players enjoyment of the gameplay.

I talked it over with the team and adjusted some of the times and rules. I should re edit the part about the console, we would prefer if there is no on screen console. Our mod is huge, a lot of stuff to explore,find and fight. I personally think that 10 minutes is short to show off a lot of features of the mod, but we decided to adjust and lower the minimum time requirements for the videos.
