I'm wondering if don't starve together will feature a type of splitscreen, thanks!

Actually , I thought that it would have been included at the very beggining of the beta , but no...
I'm sorry to ask this , because I can guess that a lot of people wouldn't have to buy the game to play with their friends , but I really feel like this game should have a local coop option, 
The game in multiplayer with some random dude just ask too much coordination to be played with someone you can't directly talk to.
This is gonna be modded anyway , I've seen this for Borderlands 2 for example.
The PC just run two Borderlands at half the resolution and it works pretty great , so on a low ressources game like Don't Starve , this should be really easy.
But still , I'm asking you if you could do it for your game , people are never gonna enjoy as much the game as in their living room , playing on the same screen , on the same couch , planning days in advance their shedule writted on a small piece of paper.
This is some unforgettable moments in prospect.

Pressing Add Reply once is enough and then you should let the page load. Three repeats of the same message means you pressed Add Reply three times in a row, so it added the same reply three times. Since you are the last one to reply at such a short time, your replies would be combined. Hence three copies of the same message in one post.

Adding split screen will determine whether I get the game or not, for one simple reason. My girlfriend loves the original, but only because of the couch experience.

Having an online only experience won't interest her at all, and we'd probably stick with the original. We just think it would make it so much better to communicate with someone right next to you. You'd be one of the best examples on the PS4, as there aren't a lot of other options when it comes to splitscreen.

Please please bring it to the PS4 with splitscreen!

I think the same experience would be just set up two computers next to each other and play together. There is a LAN/Offline mode (whatever it is called) That option is available. I heard them on stream mention there won't be a split screen. (although never say never I guess but it sounded like they didn't have any intentions on doing one.)

 

There is a mod for Don't Starve that allows you to share the computer and screen and inventory with two people, if I'm not mistaken. I never tried it but it was in the workshop. 

 

I'm not really sure how hard split-screen would be to make a mod for it? 

 

Either way I'd just set up some computers near each-other in the meantime and have fun!

That's several hundred dollars for each computer to run the game. That would be great in a world where everyone had laptops, or if everyone had millions of dollars, but that's not the world we're living in.

 

There is a mod

Yeah but the controls for the mod are pretty terrible and player 2 is missing a lot of features and it also has quite a few bugs associated with it, it's also incompatible with a lot of other awesome mods, such as the RPG Hud mod which is pretty much an essential mod to a lot of people.

Really, it has to be up to the developers to add real local co-op support to the game. The alternatives people throw out are either infeasible or inferior quality.

I was really expecting this would be added in DST... Haven't really played DS a lot because I always felt it was a "2 player in the same room" kind of game.
