Introduction of Rabbit Starvation

As I play this game more and more, I've noticed that a common strategy is to kill rabbits for food ad nauseam. Not only myself but this seemed to be a strategy of all the players who have uploaded videos on youtube that I've watched.

That got me to thinking about a common meme in survivalist literature that stresses against protein poisoning, also commonly referred to rabbit starvation which to sum it up "is the excess consumption of lean meats, often causing diarrhea, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure and heart rate, and a vague discomfort and hunger that can only be satisfied by consumption of fat or carbohydrates."

Now I don't know if this is feasible, but this is a common meme that any survivalist will bring up if you read about them. I do not know how this would be implemented to convey to the player easily, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense for gameplay.

Vomiting could be introduced which could increase your hunger a lot. The way to solve this problem would be to stagger your food consumption mixing in the veggies with the morsels. This could add to the stress of inventory management as well.

Protein poisoning is actually a serious issue, but how the characters eats the rabbit isn't completely known. Eating only the meat and skin of the rabbit would eventually give you protein poisoning, but eating the whole rabbit (and I mean everything) would give you the carbs and fat you need to stave off protein poisoning.

Well there have been efforts by the Devs to discourage players only hunting rabbits, like causing all rabbits on the screen to spook when you kill one or making the act of killing a rabbit... "naughty"... which relates to the Krampus appearing.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought of it. It's a rather good way of regulating the eating mechanics with how it's already structured.
