hi guys , im newbie and i want to ask :
1.why cant i use maxwell's shadow to kill rabbit , bird ?
2. If i build base in cave , in summer it will burn ???

First off welcome to Klei's Forums! Glad you're a new Don't Starve player!  (If you unlocked Maxwell, that means you played and finished Adventure Mode right? Good Job!) 

 

1) Birds and rabbits Jackalopes cannot be approached by ANY character without them running away.

This is true whether you're a shadow clone or a Werebeaver or a Ghost. (Maxwell, Woodie, Wendy's Abigail)

 

Birds and Jackalopes either need to be trapped by their own respective traps you must craft (land traps work well also with frogs and spiders, and in the bird one, bait with seeds or berries if you don't want to wait a long time,) or must be targeted by RANGED attack weapons (the easiest one to make being the boomerang.)

 

2) Yes. Seasonal weather effects take longer to affect you in caves, but still do. This means burning, freezing and Wetness. if this is too hard, you might want to make a new game without the reign of Giants checked until you master the game basics better. Then when you are feeling better about your game play, you can make future new games with that box checked. I'm not saying you have to, but it's a very harder game with the advanced gameplay box checked if you will.
