I wish Chrome saves weren't so... fragile

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but there's no good way to back up your Chrome saves, is there? I mean I totally understand the limits of working with something in a browser, but it would be great if I knew I could delete my browsing data without unintentionally screwing up all my progress.

I know you can import it into the Steam version, but I only have the Chrome one. Is there like... any way to fix this or is it just a penalty for playing in a browser?

(Sorry if this is dumb. It's late and I'm tired and kinda frustrated and also didn't see anything else on the topic)
