Tallish Smallbirds, the adolescent version are the only actually viable defensive ally. Tallish Smallbirds, the adolescent version are the only actually viable defensive ally. But you could still use smallbirds to attack crows, redbirds, and snowbirds, as well as butterflies. This is how I got through a lot of my winters sometimes, and I have to agree that they seem a lot less responsive now.
