Controller support enabled by default

Recommended Posts

I'm currently experimenting with SteamOS and I think it has great potential.

Don't Starve plays rather well under SteamOS but there are a few minor issues.  The most apparent issue is that controller support isn't enabled by default (at least on my install).  This requires the end user to use their keyboard and mouse to enable controller support.  It would be handy if controller support was enabled by default.  :)

Thanks

I think the trouble comes in that both "keyboard/mouse" and "controller" cannot be "default" at the same time. Don't Starve was initially a browser/PC game, and generally speaking, gamers would use mouse/keyboard. SteamOS is relatively new in the grand scheme of things. Still a good idea though, recognizing the OS and adjusting for it!

PS4 players, can you speak to this... when you start the game, is mouse/keyboard the default and you have to manually change it, or was it coded to recognize that you're playing PS4 and the default is "controller" instead of "mouse/keyboard"?

I play on a PS4 and it is default to controller, was looking at getting this on Steam as well but not sure I'd be able to play using a keyboard and mouse have not played many games on a PC
