Sorry if someone has posted some of these ideas already.

First it would be awesome to have smithing, like mine for Iron ore or have a mine in a certain location, and send a couple pigs down to mine for you. Then they wouldn't respawn for a couple days and then bring you some stuff to work with. Sort of like Monster Hunter with your cats. You could make armor, helmets, swords, shields, barbed wire, etc. A bow would also be useful to make and each arrow cost like two bird feathers (a red and black) to make. It would also be fun to have a way to get to another island entirely, like eventually gather enough materials to make a boat, and the new island will be a different biome entirely like always winter or super hot. And for the Winter season brought up many times before, You could make a winter coat from beefalo and pigskins. But make it really difficult to make like 50 fur and 30 pig skin and it would be able to slow the freezing of your character. I am not sure if you are against making a house, but that would be awesome. And to keep people from "turtling" you could bring in a new monster that spawns every so many days or randomly that will tear down (burn down) your house if you are inside it. Like an ogre or something. And palisades are a must to keep out dogs.

I really like the idea. Would be cool to have a blast furnace to smelt ores to use along with an anvil and also be able to blow glass for potions, milk storage etc.. something like that. He is an inventor, or at least scientist no?

Yes and he needs to make some awesome chemicals! I mean smoke bombs, acids, napalm, think of the possibilities! And if they make a winter season or snow biome, they need to give you the ability to make a refrigerator if they are going to make foods spoil. I mean you would have to survive all summer and then winter you could gather stuff to make a fridge, and only hold like 2 items per fridge.

No need to apologize, although you're free to search the forum first for existing suggestions. However even then you may very well be putting a new twist on the idea. :)

Well I've always felt we needed iron ore, and I suggested it should come from underground, however not in the way you're suggesting. I assume the mine would be similar to a pig house, only it would be a "mine entrance", and pig men would go into it and be off-screen mining for you. Now I know they punch trees to knock them down, but I'm not sure how effective that would be for mining...

Well new armors, helmets, and swords have been suggested before, so you may want to expand on these ideas. as for shields, those are not as useful since the player only has one hand... and most would prefer to equip a weapon in combat. As for barbed wire... not sure, but we will eventually be allowed to build walls, so that will be just as good in terms of protection.

Ah, bow and arrows. This is a popular suggestion, so rest assured you're not alone. The most common formula for crafting them is:

Sticks + Silk = Bow

Flint + Stick + Feather = Arrow

Well the Devs have suggested that we will be able to travel to progress the game's plot... however it won't be to another island per say, but rather a portal than will take us to another "world". Of course maybe that's just a fancy name of a new island map with new content and dangers. Of course that doesn't mean I wouldn't want boats to be added the to game... I really would like them. :)

Different biomes have also been discussed before, and I imagine that the "new world" the Devs develop will have different biome types. Of course that's purely a guess by me at this stage.

I agree that the player should be able to craft a beefalo coat... maybe not pig skins though. I think it would be interesting, as I've suggested elsewhere, that whenever the player is not near a fire or not wearing their coat they are affected by winter's cold and gradually lose Health (say 1% a second).

Well I used to support the idea of building a house from craftable "parts" (i.e. wall, floor, window, door, stairs), but now I'm not as interested since I know eventually we will need to abandon our home island forever to progress in the game. Rather I'm looking forward to what amenities we can craft, like the walls, to make our base camp work better.

I thought that would be a game mode you could choose, instead of story mode being the only mode.
