TheFireStarter
One big issue with farming is you can't do it efficiently unless you are close to beeffalo. So I would love to see a mod called BetterCrapping "Garbage Compactors" would be better. The idea I have is a machine that can be made using the alchemy engine. You would put three pieces of food you don't want in (including seeds and grass) and it would create "compost." Then compost can be used on crops but will only be as effective as beeffalo feces. But you can build another machine called a "soil refinery." For this machine you would add 1 piece of compost or manure and you add 2 nitre to make fertilizer. This fertilizer can now be used on farms to permanently increase the growth rate and perhaps make a tier 2 seed that will grow food faster. Now wait? Nitre useful? Well yes. Nitre in real life contains an element known as potassium nitrate which is used for preserving food from going stale and also curing ham. But wait? What does this have to do with fertilizer? Potassium nitrate is a common ingredient in fertilizer so there you go I win you lose. How dare you doubt me. I'm offended. Now go make the mod and when you are done think about your offensive actions towards an innocent person. Heavenfall
If you're near a pig town you can feed the pigs stuff to get manure. Since you can build pig towns yourself this sounds like a non-issue. TheFireStarter
I was just pointing out it could be a possible nuisance seeing as I normally settle near beeffalo anyway. I just thought this would be a cool concept and add another purpose to all that monster meat. enderstenders
I agree with Heavenfall. No point in adding a new item when you can get infinite poo with Pigs. In my world, I set aside a couple pig houses just for killing off the pigs, then (once the limit of pigs have been killed) I use a deconstruction staff and get back 100% of the materials used, that way I ALWAYS have a profit. Eventually I got a butt-ton of pig houses, and with the 80 berry bushes I have, I can just throw 2 stacks of berries on the ground and the next day I have loads of poo. This is the best way in my mind to get the most poo. You could always teleport a couple beefaloes into a walled-off area inside your base using a telelocator focus. Play for a 100 days or so, and you should have tons of beefalo and poo. But don't forget your beefalo hat! raptor980
I've got a better idea. You build a Compost Pile where you throw food and spoilables (including grass) and wait for a few days. Out comes compost. They exist in real life, and I don't think they'd be OP. Plus it'd be a nice addition to the game Edited December 23, 2013 by raptor980 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30488-mod-idea/#findComment-393231 Share on other sites
TheFireStarter
That is a much better idea. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30488-mod-idea/#findComment-393546 Share on other sites
