Chapter 1: Wilson

_____________________________________________________________________________________

***Note the following is an alternate story of Don't Starve with different character back stories and different themes***

Wilson was a brilliant mind always inventing something new. His job at the think tank was boring and the same. He longed for something new for someone who would recognize his intelligence and make it blossom to its full potential. He was alone. Even from a child Wilson knew more than most correcting his teachers and peers. Eventually he was expelled from school for being a disruption. He was home taught from that point forward by a private tutor. Little did Wilson know that today would start an order of events that couldn't be stopped.

As Wilson got dressed and started making a breakfast his radio turned on. Strange static and a muffled voice was all that could be heard. He was confused as his radio was currently "off" why was it making these noises? These sounds? These voices... He got in his car and and drove desperate to get away from his radio. That was the thing about Wilson he was easily paranoid something as simple as a possible glitch or bug in his radio freaked him. To get his mind off this "event" he focused on where he was going "Work work work" Wilson repeated. Yet despite being so focused he drove past work. Infact he was compelled to go far past the city. He didn't know why but he just kept driving. Till he was in the mountain range.

It was an odd feeling as if he someone else was controlling him. As if somehow Wilson knew where to go but at the same time didn't. He stopped the car at an abandon ranch and instead of following the path he strayed into the woods. For hours on end he went through the woods. He knew exactly where to go and where to turn and what path to follow. He finally got to an abandon, old, falling apart house. He walked in to find a lab similar to the one at the think tank. The layout was almost the same as his house with the kitchen and bedrooms in the same exact areas. He walked into the bedroom. In complete awe and his mouth agape. The room was an exact replica. It wouldn't have been a such a surprise if all of his furniture weren't custom made by his now late father who was a carpenter. Still not a shocker? Well all of the furniture he ordered from his father were made personally for Wilson. As far as Wilson knew his father never made another model of the furniture Wilson ordered. If that wasn't enough surprise the radio was in their. Wilson had made that radio for one of the projects at a think tank. No one liked it so he took it home. He never made another one. Had someone stolen all his furniture and managed to beat him to this place in the woods. Impossible the only way someone could manage this was if someone had made this furniture and had this prepared for days or even months. But who? Stressed he slept in the bed. His bed. Not some strangers. Not some criminals. His bed.

He woke up to a voice on his radio. "My name is Maxwell and you?" Wilson remained silent. Maxwell spoke again "I hear it is Wilson but I must be sure." "Either way you have a job to do." Maxwell promised eternal knowledge only at the small cost he build a rift into a dimension. Maxwell had promised him this rift would not only make him famous but be a glorious gift upon the world. Wilson was eager for fame but also for the knowledge he had been promised. He labored for days studying all he knew about machines and dimensions. He finally built the contraption. He pondered if he was hallucinating for Maxwell had not contacted him for days. Then it always came down to walking outside and then he was in the woods not the city. Upon finishing the machine the radio switched on. "Excellent you have done a great job now flip the switch!" Wilson hesitated noticing how Maxwell was so urgent and insistent and on top of that more sinister. Wilson was about to say no but Maxwell shouted "DO IT!" and Wilson reacting under pressure flipped the lever. Maxwell laughed cynically almost evilly. It was then Wilson realized it was a trap all a ruse he had fallen under Maxwell's trick. Then it all went black.

I would love to edit this post to fix errors and spacing but seems as if I can't. So I guess I will work on refining better before I post a new topic from this point forward.

It has to do with you being new and not having enough posts - anti-spambot measure. Post more, and you'll be able to edit.
