Please help: Newbie can't tap to click (using OS X, playing standalone)

Hello, everyone. Just purchased the game and I'm not sure how to enable the tap-to-click option. Has anybody else here experienced this? It feels a bit awkward pressing the trackpad just to make Maxwell pick up stuff, so if anyone can share some helpful tips, that would be awesome.

Basic question time, but have you gone into the Main Menu Options-Controlls and re-binded some other way of using the "Primary" Action?

Or even more basicly, have you considered using a mouse?

Hi, truthseeker. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have tried changing some of the settings there, but the only option available to me is Keyboard and Mouse, which I can't always use. This seems to be an old issue, too, as there's a similar post on the Bug Tracker section. (Apologies, found the other one after I already made mine.) 

I guess for now I'll just have to use a mouse, as you suggested. Really hope this gets resolved in the next update, though.

Besides the Bug tracker report, as a stopgap, have you considered rebinding another key, another combination (including a track pad button, a mouse button or even combination key-trackpad or mouse button) or any combination you can work with you can assign in the keyboard and mouse? (I personally like for splitting inventory the control and click/tap myself for example.)

 

The "other device" is for those who wish to play with Game Controllers, and won't show up unless you have plugged one in.

Okay, just did that, and the controls are so much better now. (Thought I had to actually use a mouse because of the "Keyboard and Mouse" – silly me!   )

Can finally hit with the spear faster and more accurately. Many thanks for your help!
