A Mod Idea (Possibly a Request) -- Zombies

Alright, so we all know that the recent update for DS allows mods to change the core of the game itself (use the Screecher mod for reference), thus allowing more intuitive mods. I haven't seen many, yet, but hope to soon. I remember a few months ago, someone started making a mod to add zombies to the game. I would like someone to resume this project, and, hopefully, make DS more zombie-based than survival. Basically, it would most likely add zombie hordes to the game, and make it more about surviving them then the world. Walls would become important, and so would a sustainable food source. Also, it would fit in well with the Halloween mods going around.

Thus ends my idea.

I know that you are trying to show me that an idea like this exists and is being worked on out there, but I would just like zombie hordes. Idea is still great, though.

Once that mod is finished, it shouldn't be too hard to modify it to be a straightforward zombie mod (if the creators give their permission to do so, of course).

Since people seem to be confused, I want to elaborate on this. I don't want zombies as something to kill. I want them to be an ever present danger that can and will kill anything that gets close. I want them to be something that competes for the amount of limited resources available, as well as target your buildings and such.


Once that mod is finished, it shouldn't be too hard to modify it to be a straightforward zombie mod (if the creators give their permission to do so, of course).

I'm working on a mod that puts the shambler in the game, maybe that will be good enough for an unkillable threat?.

That does seem like my idea, and it certainly would work, but I want, even if it's not zombies, something that will kill any enemies, eat everything it finds, and destroy structures.

When you finish your mod, however, I will certainly try it out and tell you if I like it or not.

Zombies and a Shambler. That would certainly be... "Hard Mode," you could say.

Right now I imagine the whole Don't Starve map being transformed into a dead wasteland. Evergreens look sick, the ground looks like a dead cats fur, pigmen are afraid of anything that moves, from graves arise zombies that wander through the world in their search for food, wildlife is living on the brink of existence and the player is gonna have a hard time...

I don't know but I kinda like it. Like a giant "reskin" and "rebalancing", to bad I don't have time for this.

Yes, like that. Everything is being hunted by the zombies, including you. Dust has filled the sky -- plunging the world into a pseudo-winter, with heat constantly dropping, making farming hard. Caves are filled with the dead, but are warm and filled with safe zones.

You shared the idea wonderfully, and I enjoyed it immensely.
