dancness
Does the game always spawn you near the center of the map? Every new game I start, it spawns me in a grassland biome that is about in the middle of the typically starfish shaped map. Is this intended, and does it always happen to you too? simplex
Usually, yes. The spawn point is the "root" of worldgen, which spreads from there. And the ordering of the biomes as they spread from the spawn point is controlled (in a randomized fashion, but not arbitrarily). the truthseeker
Yes it's almost always (if not always) in the center of the world. However, the Grasslands is only mostly and not always. While you always will be in that patch with three flowers, you may spawn in any biome surrounding it, except directly in the Chess Biome. That written, you may spawn very near or even adjacent to it if not directly in it (although spawning adjacent to the Wooden Thing is exceptionally rare.)
