Shadowfall

[Percival]

(MY GOD, I HAVE MISSED AN SEMI-IMPORTANT INTRODUCTION.

And I was eating pizza. )

 

"Well, if we are going to introduce ourselves, my name is Azure. Fabrico to you."

 

He grips the skeleton's finger and shakes it, as if he is afraid of being contaminated.

[Battal]

Walking through the darkness, the group reaches - well, practically falls off - a cliff.  While the torchlight does not extend all the way down the rock face, the group can hear fast-moving water below.

[Blewcheese]

"The river... We should wait for daytime. Can't see anything like this."

[Ellebelly24]

*Snow tries her best to take all the warmth from her feet out*

[Will]

(Sorry, I was away playing card games with my family.)

"So, Trent. What can you do? I make lightning. My name's Violet, by the way. And that's how I like to be called. Snowfall's an exception. Only she can call me Vio."

[Battal]

And so, the group waits at the edge of the chasm.  Night slowly passes by, and with a merry tune, the cavern brightens once more.

"I'm just a skeleton. Nothing special really."

[Battal]

In the new day's light, the group can see all the way into the chasm.  Below rushes the silvery river.  Looking around, the group can see no way across.

"Maybe I can jump..."

[Percival]

"I doubt that, even with muscles, you would jump across something like that. I would like to see you fall though," Fabrico adds, too quiet for anyone to hear.

[_-_-_]

"I could survive that."

[Will]

"You haven't been here very long, it seems. Anything, no matter what it is, that falls in that river is dissolved and used as fuel for Shadowfall. Nobody could survive that."

Violet throws a nearby spider in the river to demonstrate.

[Blewcheese]

Pops sighs.

"I guess going around wasn't the best of ideas. We may have to climb the mountain."

[Will]

"Fantastic, I've always loved climbing."

[Ellebelly24]

"HA! I told you!"

[Blewcheese]

"No need for that. Please, Starling, be mature. We wouldn't want anyone learning from that."

Joseph tries to hide a laugh.

[Will]

"Well, we aren't going to get anywhere arguing. Let's just go. This place is really annoying."

[Ellebelly24]

*Snowfall falls over laughing so hard*

"Dude, you know I'm still a kid right... I kinda released all my anger in that one sentence."

(Don't ask. Star is kinda odd...)

[Blewcheese]

Pops shakes his head.

"Fine. Let's just go."

He heads towards the mountain, and Joseph follows suit.

[Percival]

('Odd' is just another word for 'unique'.)

 

"Hold up, you don't really expect me to climb this mountain, do you? This isn't a durable walking cane."

[Ellebelly24]

(No, she is just odd, not unique.)

[Blewcheese]

Pops groans, loosing patience.

"Fine. Stay here and have your soul completely drained until you are nothing but a husk, serving Shadowfall without even knowing it."

[Ellebelly24]

"I'm ready!"

"So am I!"

*Star spreads her wings*

[Percival]

"Sigh. Fine. These shoes are going to be ruined."

 

He began walking with the rest of the group.

[Battal]

(I dunno how you decided that since you can't cross the river, you should climb the mountain, but...okay!)

 

And so, the group begins their way up the mountain.  They start off hiking, but are soon forced to scale rock walls, using all their climbing expertise (which isn't much for most of them) to not fall to a bone-shattering death.  As they get higher, the Vortex begins to drain their energy, and even though they are underground, they suffer from altitude sickness.
