"Screw this, I'm outta here!"

Violet barges past Pops, and jumps to the other scaffolding. She hardly grabs hold of it, and pulls herself up. Violet extends her hand over the edge.

"Come on, jump! You don't have time to stand around!"

"Fine, don't grab my hand then."

Despite her statement, Violet's hand does not move in case someone jumps too short.

[Blewcheese]

Pops grabs Violet's hand, and nods a thanks. Joseph does the same.

[Ellebelly24]

*Star flies over, (she has wings!) and Snow grabs Vio's hands*

"Thanks Vio."

[Will]

"Um, sure."

Violet pulls up Snowfall.

[Ellebelly24]

(Yup.)

[Blewcheese]

(Then let's gooo!)

Pops nods.
"Okay. No need to run now. Try not to unbalance anything."

[Battal]

The scaffolding collapses behind the group as they hurry along.  All goes well, until the water beneath them begins to froth.  With a furious screech, the Forgotten rises out of it, wielding a ball of dark flame in each hand.

[Blewcheese]

"RUN! GO!"

Pops begins running as fast as his old man legs can carry him. Joseph runs behind him, trying to stop him from potentially falling.

[Battal]

The beast raises its hand, and hurls a ball of fire at the group.  The fireball misses, and hits another piece of scaffolding.  The resulting explosion blows it into a thousand shards of wood.

[Battal]

(Want an epic scene?  Combine rickety platforms, deadly chasms, explosions, and imminent doom.)

[Blewcheese]

(Now we just need some dramatic music.)

Pops, however, with his adrenaline rush, continues running through the explosion. His arm is hit with a few splinters, but nothing too major. Joseph acts similar to Kyle.

*Star grabs Pops's wrist and Kyle's wrist while flying*

"Lets go."

[Blewcheese]

(Pops? Do you mean Joseph? Because Pops kept running forward. So he's ahead. Whatever. Assuming you meant Pops.)

Pops nods a thanks while Joseph tries to keep up.

[Ellebelly24]

*Snow runs up by Joseph*

"Need a hand?"

"It's the least I could do. You both looked tired, and I'm sorry, I'd take more if I could."

[Blewcheese]

Joseph shrugs.

"I'll live. Unless we're killed by that thing. Then I won't."

[Ellebelly24]

*Snow starts to laugh*

"You crack me up, but seriously, if you get any slower, you will die."

*With that she grabs his wrist, and starts to gain a bit of speed*

[Blewcheese]

Joseph now tries to keep up with Snowfall, stumbling and tumbling his way forward.

[Battal]

The group continues running, scaffolding exploding behind them.  At this point, they are peppered with shrapnel, and they doubt it will be long before the Forgotten manages a direct hit...

The sky boils overhead in a mass of black clouds and red lightning.  A ray of shadow rises from the Dark Spire, powering the storm.  The prisoners are silent.  They have screamed their throats raw, and now only let out slight whimpers despite the pain.  For once, Shadowfall enjoyed the silence.  Agony was entertaining, but it got boring after a while.  And anyways, this part of the process required plenty of concentration.  He didn't need some wailing idiot causing him to make a mistake.

[Blewcheese]

(Come on, Caravan driver. Scream. I believe in you.)

Pops looks to The Forgotten.

"How did it manage to survive the river..."

[Battal]

You guys are not good at making connections, are you?  I bet you haven't figured out what the Mother is.  I also bet you haven't figured out who the Forgotten is, either.)

(No offense.)

 

Pop's question is answered by a fireball.  It's a direct hit, and the group is blown into the air like rag dolls.

Pops holds on as right as he can, gritting his teeth.

[Battal]

*Star spirals out of control*

"HOLD ON!!!"

(Well, it's not actually a barrel roll.  But that's just a theory.  a Game Theory.)
