Battal Posted December 28, 2013 Author Share Posted December 28, 2013 The group carefully makes their way across the scaffolding, jumping in some spots to get from one piece to the next. Suddenly, something goes wrong. With a loud creak and a snap, the scaffolding completely gives away. It falls sideways, smashing into another wooden tower. The force of the impact sends the group tumbling off the structure and into the chasm below. They cry out, but nothing can be done. They splash into the river. Their skin disintegrates first; then their blood as it comes pouring from their dessicated bodies. Then flesh, then bones, and then nothing. The river leaves no trace behind. A week afterwards, Shadowfall's Spire reaches full power, and he completes his transformation. After destroying the Islands, he escape the prison and wreaks havoc on humanity. The race is almost completely wiped out, save for a number left as the demon's slaves. The quest is over. The group has failed. And shadows reign over all races. THE END. Battal Posted December 28, 2013 Author Share Posted December 28, 2013 (It was worth a shot.) In actuality, the group tumbles onto the platform the falling scaffold smashed into. The now-ruined tower they were on previously slides off and smashes into the water, the powerful current dragging it away like a toy. The current structure has survived the impact, but is already wobbling like a house of cards.
