Shadowfall

Whisp decides to try and help Snowfall walk away from the fire as they continue.

"Thanks guys... This is pretty... Hard for me.."

*she is taking silent deep breaths, and doing her best to block ou the pain. But the more heat she got near, the faster her heart melted*

[Blewcheese]

Joseph nods and pushes the burning corpses away from Snowfall with his telekinesis as best as he can, trying to make the least amount of heat go towards her.

[Battal]

Reaching the hallway's end, they come upon a small ledge over an incredibly deep chasm.  A damaged bride stretches over the chasm.  The bridge is pockmarketed blackened slashes, like those of an enormous beast.  The ledge is covered with smeared and burning marks, like someone took a person, then crushed them, smeared them and burned them alive.  The bridge looks dangerous, but it seems to be the only way across.

Shard whines, folding in her extinguished wings. She hopes that this won't last long, it being bad for her too, as she has fur.

[Ellebelly24]

"Shard, you can ignite your wings, your flames don't really hurt me."

*she smiles*

[Blewcheese]

Joseph looks at the bridge.

"Aw, man, another one? What is it with this place and raggedy bridges?"

He looks wistfully at the other side.

<I'm too tired to to my flight trick again... I guess we're actually going to have to cross this one.>

Joseph steps forward.

"I guess I'll go first..."

[gloryKAT]

Shard snorts, then gives an odd looking smile, being a hound. She ignites her wings, but they're only a small flame, just in case.

[Ellebelly24]

*Snowfall contains the pain inside of her, not even flinching*

"If you don't want to go Joseph, I'll be willing to go."

[Blewcheese]

"No, it's okay. I can probably recover if I fall."

<Maybe. Kinda. Hopefully.>

He lightly steps onto the first plank, testing it. A small crack appears immediately. Taking deep breathes, he begins walking across the bridge.

[Battal]

The bridge creaks and scrapes, but is for the most part still solid.  Joseph makes it across with little trouble.

[gloryKAT]

Shard whines before taking off and soaring across cautiously.

[Battal]

@Luggs, are you still in this?

[Ellebelly24]

*Snowfall leaps across the bridge, landing gracefully with ever leap*

[Battal]

At the other side of the bridge, there is another small ledge with a door.  A massive splatter of blood covers part of the ledge, and more, seemingly fresh, drips down the doorway.

*Snowfall looks at the blood with curiousity*

"This is more of that red stuff that you told me about, Joseph!"

[Blewcheese]

Joseph nods, tired.

"Yeah, it is. It means something was hurt, probably killed around here."

He looks around, but he is very fatigued.

"We should be careful. There's too many corpses for my liking."

His mental stability is beginning to lower again. The short amount of mediation wasn't enough to last him.

[Battal]

The group opens the door.  Inside is a small circular chamber, much like the first one.  Jakob is kneeling before a bloody corpse lying on the altar.  He is bleeding steaming blood from many places, but does not seem to care.  He is just staring, in shock, at the body.

[Blewcheese]

"Jakob!"

Joseph runs towards Jakob.

"You're alive! I was concerned one of the corpses would be you, and I didn't notice."

[Ellebelly24]

*Snowfall peers in from outside*

"Jakob?"

*she smiles*

[Battal]

Jakob is startled by the group's sudden appearance.

 

"I--oh."

 

Jakob then turns solemnly back to the man's corpse.

*Snowfall speaks in a hushed voice*

"What's wrong Jakob?"

*she steps into the room*

[Blewcheese]

"Jakob, what's the matter?"

He walks towards Jakob and inspects the corpse.

"Who is this?"

[Battal]

"It-"  Jakob's voice breaks.  "It's my father."

[Ellebelly24]

*Snowfall looks at Jakob, then lowers her head. She knew what it was like to lose a family member, especially someone as special as a parent*
