Arrow Del
May not be a big issue to most people as most people can hear perfectly well, but when there are sounds playing in the game, I would like the character to respond with something that can be seen on screen. Maybe "Oh, one of my traps fell." or "I heard a spider hiss." or maybe if you want to make it creepier "Eek! A spider!" If it's not very popular, perhaps put in a setting to toggle the monologue narration on and off. I'm asking because I miss being able to "hear" the creepy sounds when I have to turn off my awesome speakers after a certain time in the evening. Royal
This is a very real consideration for the game that I've mentioned offhand before. If for instance a member of the hearing impaired community would like to enjoy the game there are certain audio cues that might need a bit of accompanying text... So yeah CC might help. However it should certainly be an option just like in any form of media. rojvol
Well yeah I think it is a great idea. I love character quotes anyway. More quotes more fun. Arrow Del
Ugh, just died from the dogs because I didn't hear them before they appeared and took too long to get my spear and logsuit out -.- Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/1971-closed-captioning-for-sounds/#findComment-24176 Share on other sites
mobius187
Ugh, just died from the dogs because I didn't hear them before they appeared and took too long to get my spear and logsuit out -.-Which I would say is the #1 issue associated with no sound. As the characters don't actually "speak" we already have the benefit of seeing all the spoken dialog. Arrow Del
Yes, I love that the character's words are visible, they're so funny and cute sometimes. I just would like to have a visual cue for DANGEROUS sounds...like we have a warning right before the thing in the dark bites us...why not something for "Was that a bark?"
