[Suggestion] Disease and Poisons.

I think the mosquito ponds could be a great place to catch disease. And maybe digging graves could give you germs? I dunno may be they could make a germophobic character that goes insane while being germy. And a childish one who likes to roll in mud piles and makes use of the toys and junk from graves. And there should be a stamina gauge that depletes unless you sleep and when you have a certain illness and a thirst gauge and a whole new drink mechanic. But back to diseases. Maybe evil flowers can make you sick? Or is insanity enough? But they could make rats that have disease and sneak into chests and or iceboxes to eat/ infect food. This is getting to be a long post.

I gotta bump this thread too. This suggestion is awesome!Here are a ton of different diseases, I'm not suggesting including all of them. Just brainstorming here.You have a chance of getting the swine flu if you stay around piggies too much.Basic disease. Slow HP drain for duration. Cure: Chicken soup + sleep.You have a very small chance of getting avian flu every time you murder a bird.Basic disease. Slow HP drain for duration. Cure: Chicken soup + sleep.If you haven't consumed eggs or butter in 40 days you contract rickets.Weakening disease. Tools/weapons are 50% as effective. Cure: Egg or butter.If you haven't consumed berries, dragon fruit, durian, or pomegranate in 10 days you contract scurvy.Weakening disease. Tools/weapons are 50% as effective. Cure: Berries, dragon fruit, durian, or pomegranate.If you have half your HP taken out by hounds in a single day, you contract rabies.Death in 3 days. Character says, "A mushroom sounds tasty." Cure: Eating any mushroom.If you have a fifth of your HP taken out by mosquitoes in a single day, you contract malaria.Character stops for 3 seconds after running for 15 seconds. States, "Need mushrooms!" Cure: Eating each mushroom.If you have a quarter of your HP taken out by coldness within 3 days, you contract pneumonia.The warmest your character can get is the first tier of freezing. Cure: Sleep near a raging fire.If you loot more than three graves in one day, you have a chance to contract a voodoo curse.Your head shrinks, and cannot wear anything on your head. Duration: 5 days.If you take any damage from a frog, you get a wart on your characters face. Duration 2 days.If you have more than 40 manure in your inventory at a given time, you contract mad cow disease.You randomly attack creatures nearby for one hit. Duration 2 days.If you lose half your health from spiders, you contract a spider bite.Ten less max HP. Cure: Healing salve or honey poultice.And two big ones:If you get damaged by a werepig, you have a chance to contract lycanthropy.Next full moon night is skipped. You see your character without any gear (everything has been dropped where you were) in a field somewhere random and distant on the map next to two still sleeping werepigs. Character is only willing to eat meat.
