Ranching Pacu without the Aquatic Planet Pack DLC

It looks to me that ranching Pacu was additionally nerfed if you don't own/use the Aquatic Planet Pack DLC.
 

"Ate From Feeder" doesn't provide a happiness bonus anymore.

The "Ate a Treat" buff gives only a happiness bonus of +2

After taming this ends up with a happiness of +1 and a reproduction rate of 22% instead of the 67% it was before.

Thank you. The conclusion is infortunate because it still means that you need either wait until midgame to produce enough seeds for a low return or late game for a return you could have expected in the early game with the nerfs from the game update. I think Klei might have done silly here.

from my experience, just get them brackene. i was playing on relica, though. dewdrips are very convenient source of it
