I'm specifically talking about the distilled knowledge in the archives, and the blueprints crafted at the notional fabricator. For the former, the blueprints should be replaced by the crafting recipe being unlocked outright upon completing the puzzle. The characters all talk about how their heads are being filled with knowledge, yet this isn't reflected in gameplay as instead you're magically given a piece of paper to craft what the knowledge was supposed to put in your head.

As for the notional frabricator, instead of crafting the blueprints for astroggles and the incomplete experiment, how about you just let the player prototype those recipes at the structure? This makes much more sense than the player visiting Wagstaff's crafting station and proceeding to make blueprints, rather than just making the things Wagstaff makes at his fabricator.
