If only catcoons could provide similar items((seeds, stones, feathers, food, and small animals), it would be more attractive to be friends with them.For example, you can exchange tree seeds for crop seeds, red feathers for blue feathers, rabbits for moles, beefalowool for steelwool, and so on. This makes being friends with catcoons a good choice in the early stages of the game. Additionally, I would like to see catcoons catch small animals and give them to players, as in reality cats catch prey and give it to their owners as a way of thanking them for their feeding. I believe many people have expressed this, don't you think so? For catcoons, this can greatly improve practicality. I wasn’t talking about outclassing Wilson at all I was just saying I don’t think it’s a good idea it feels really random. Also just gaining stuff like steel wool is broken. gaymime Posted 8 hours ago Share Posted 8 hours ago (edited) um, so i do use catcoons(especially in my lightsout worlds) and this.....does not feel like it would be very wise to have. it does discourage the player from well, playing parts of the game....why waste time growing wild seeds if you can guarantee any seed from a catcoon on demand? why play any season but autumn when you can get guaranteed basic seasonal resources for all seasons in only one? why bother with traps when feathers and small animals are just available by over-stuffing your local trashcat with one specific resource you already have loads of? this also means there needs to be a LOT more code tied to catcoons as there is a need for several different lootpools all tied to the many items a catcoon can be given which makes the game just that much bulkier and prone to breaking when things get updated/changed right now it being a randomised lootpool with highly variable grant probabilities is not a terrible thing, sure it is a bit clunky but i think it is still better than being a vending machine since there still is not a way to easily manipulate it into spitting out more specific things also a small correction; cats don't bring their owners catches as a "thanks" they are communal animals and do it when the food at home is insufficient or nutritionally poor. it is your cat basically saying "hey, i know you are probably hungry too and i want you to eat."
