We don't know which characters are going to be in Elsewhere but I kinda do hope that they take a look at changing their kit according to the skilltrees they already made. In my opinion the best way for this would be to look at the most commonly taken skills in each characters skilltree and think about why they are taken. Let's take Wortox as example, I'm pretty sure that the 2 most commonly taken skills are going to be souljars and the less expensive teleports. One of them removes nearly all of the downsides of Wortox for only 2-5 inventory slots (depending on how far you want to go) while the other just makes soul upkeep less annoying. While converting these skills over directly is probably not a good idea, considering how strong nearly all skilltrees are, the concepts behind them are obviously a great hit.

For the above mentioned wortox skills an idea I had was that he's able to build actual Soul Jars on the map. Rather huge structures that physically store souls and if filled far enough count as teleportation network for him where the jump cost for long ranges would be the cost from his current position to closest jar, closest jar to closest jar to jump point at heavily reduced rates (depending on soul levels), and then from that soul jar to end point at normal rates again.

Either that or make them upgradeable jars that require certain resources and a (hefty) amount of souls to be upgraded to give permanent buffs (e.g. soul cost reductions) in a huge Area.

I just like the idea of converting the most commonly taken skills into base kit changes that go along the idea of the character itself while playing into the presumed exploration focus of DS Elsewhere. Upgradeable structures that buff your characters or unlockable buffs, crafting recipes or character specific questlines are a fun way to motivate people to explore the world, while also keeping the unique playstiles of each character. If characters require different materials for their personal upgrades it will also be a cause for replaybility as each characters wants to explore different areas with different priorities.
