After the official update last week, I’ve played plenty of WX-78, yet I still cannot find a good reason to carry or use Nutribricks.

DST is never lacking in filling food options. Nutribricks provide low hunger restoration and are cumbersome to consume. Even though they have no spoilage and can be stored long-term, this alone is not enough to make me use them as a reliable food source.

As fire fuel or fertilizer, Nutribricks perform almost the same as their raw ingredient, Rot. There is simply no practical reason to bring them along.

However, since Nutribricks can already burn as regular fire fuel, why not let them also power light sources?

In the game, the only non-perishable light fuels are Slurtle Slime, Fireflies, and Festive Lights. Slurtle Slime is undoubtedly the best option, yet it is far less accessible than Nutribricks.

Allowing Nutribricks to function as light fuel would make them a convenient, high-quality alternative choice for permanent lighting.

Unless you're eating Wagstaff's nuclear waste instead of rot, I don't see a reality in which nutribricks start glowing in a lantern

I posted an alternative to replace nutribrick. (Yes its pretty clear that im not happy with how they implemented this item). Please let me know what you think.
